Character input limit
The character count is the number of characters that a Visitor can enter into a single message.
Having this optional feature turned on, Visitors must be concise in order to get their message across, which results in quicker and more specific Agent responses , and more accurate Bot responses.
This feature can be configured from the brand editor:
Chat dialog-> Features-> Message character limit.
- The feature remains hidden from the Visitor until they reach 50% of the allowed character capacity.
- Once they hit this threshold, they will see the progress line starting to fill up.
- If the Visitor continues writing and exceeds 100% of the allowed character capacity, both emoji and send button functionalities will be disabled, and a warning message will be displayed.
